On-chain totals updated
Shares are of the ETH + TRON pair — USDT on other chains (Solana, Avalanche, …) is not tracked here.
Mints and burns show what Tether issued. Subscribers also see USDT moving between tracked exchange and treasury wallets:
When Tether issues USDT, its contract emits an Issue event and the new tokens are credited to the wallet that owns the contract, a Tether-controlled multisig. This page lists those Issue events on Ethereum and TRON.
When Tether redeems USDT, its contract emits a Redeem event and the tokens are removed from that same owner wallet. Tether can also destroy USDT held by blacklisted addresses; those events are not counted as burns here.
Not by itself. Newly minted USDT sits in Tether's own wallets until Tether sends it out, and a mint on one chain next to a burn on another can be Tether moving supply between chains, which leaves total supply unchanged.
Mints and burns: the Issue and Redeem events of the USDT contracts, read through Etherscan (Ethereum) and TronGrid (TRON). Supply by chain: Etherscan, TronScan and TronGrid. Market cap and circulating supply: CoinGecko. USDT/USD price: Kraken public market data (USDT/USD spot).
Supply and mint/burn figures are cached for about 5 minutes, so a new mint or burn can take a few minutes to appear. The Kraken price refreshes about every 20 seconds. A source that can't be refreshed is marked delayed or unavailable.
TetherTracker is independent and not affiliated with Tether or Kraken.
A mint is an Issue event: new USDT is credited to the wallet that owns the USDT contract, a Tether-controlled multisig. A burn is a Redeem event: USDT is removed from that wallet. A mint on one chain next to a burn on another can be Tether moving supply between chains rather than changing the total.
